Redland City Council Contracts RBC for Printing Services
Redland City Council has announced managed print service provider RBC Business Solutions has been contracted to supply printing, scanning, records management and integration systems for Council.
Redland City Mayor Karen Williams said a $1.5M or 41 percent saving on printing costs together with decreased CO2 emissions of 77 tonnes (approximately 1,000 trees) is predicted over the life of the five year contract.
“The new service is both more efficient and provides full digital integration across Council helping to build on Council’s new document control systems and provide better digital business outcomes.
“This includes reducing wastage and power consumption by approximately 70 percent while increasing our capacity to print multiple document formats and materials.
“Print machinery is being upgraded across Council with smart automated ‘follow me’ print technology while actual equipment needs have been reduced by 25 percent.
RBC Business Solutions is 100 percent Australian owned and one of Australia’s largest independent and privately owned print solution providers and IP integrators.
RBC Technology Group General Manager Michael Manton said the new arrangement builds on its collaborative relationship with Redland City Council.

Council’s procurement process included a market scan for suitably qualified major international and nationally represented printing technology companies listed on government information technology arrangements.
“Council will be monitoring the new managed print service contract for expected financial benefits and green initiatives, including measuring and reporting on paper volumes, electricity consumption and carbon offsets,” Cr Williams said.
“The new arrangement complements current arrangements with local printing and publishing suppliers to assist council to provide the best outcomes and value to the community.”
